Junichi Wanima:
Junichi Wanima, also known as Wanima Jun’ichi, is a participant in Blue Lock and currently plays for England’s Manshine City in the Neo Egoist League. He is the elder twin brother of Keisuke Wanima and initially joined Blue Lock as a member of Team W. Following a harrowing experience in the First Selection and the tragic loss of his brother during their quest to become the world’s best, Junichi is determined to redouble his efforts and compensate for their shared setback in Blue Lock, striving for success in honor of both himself and his brother. Out of the original 300 forwards, Junichi is one of the 35 remaining who successfully advanced through the initial trials of Blue Lock.
Appearance:
Junichi is a tall young man with striking black eyes and spiky hair. His distinctive crocodile-shaped eyebrows add to his unique appearance, and he is often observed wearing either a frown or a grin, especially when alongside his brother Keisuke.
Junichi’s given name, “Junichi” (淳じゅん壱いち), signifies “pure one,” reflecting perhaps his character’s inner purity or innocence.
His surname, “Wanima” (鰐わに間ま), means “crocodile space,” alluding to his appearance.
Trivia:
Junichi shares his birthday, Japanese voice actor, and English voice actor with his twin, though with some variations in tone of voice.
In the first popularity poll, Junichi ranked 27th, receiving 20 votes.
Personality:
Junichi, alongside his twin brother, holds a superiority complex, only recognizing each other’s abilities and dismissing others. In the First Selection, Junichi typically communicates through grunts and facial expressions, portraying himself as the strong, silent type. However, he demonstrates the ability to speak during the Second Selection. Both Junichi and his brother are unafraid to resort to underhanded tactics, as evidenced by their acceptance of Kuon’s plan. They frequently mock Chigiri, both within the Blue Lock Program and on their high school team.
Abilities:
Forwards, also referred to as strikers, play a crucial role in soccer with the primary objective of scoring goals. They are often the focal point of attention due to their positioning for scoring opportunities. Additionally, forwards commonly take part in penalty kicks and corner kicks when the opposing team kicks the ball out-of-bounds. They typically initiate the game at the start and halftime, setting the pace for their team’s offensive strategy.
“Eye Contact” is a unique ability exclusive to Junichi when he’s paired with his brother, Keisuke. This skill relies on their close bond and synchronized movements to execute powerful combination plays on the field. Since Junichi communicates non-verbally, Keisuke understands his intentions solely through their eye contact. However, a major drawback of this ability is its dependency on their partnership; once Keisuke is eliminated from the Blue Lock Project, Junichi struggles to compete against top players despite their previous success, such as scoring the first goal against Team V and defeating Team X effortlessly.
Keisuke:
Keisuke Wanima, also known as Wanima Keisuke, is a former participant in the Blue Lock Project. He is the younger twin brother of Junichi Wanima and initially joined Blue Lock as a member of Team W. Unfortunately, Keisuke, along with all the members of Team W, was eliminated during the First Selection, leaving only his brother Junichi to continue in the program.
Keisuke’s given name, “Keisuke” (計けい助すけ), translates to “scheme assistant,” which reflects his role in the match between Team W and Team Z.
His surname, “Wanima” (鰐わに間ま), means “crocodile space.”
Appearance:
Keisuke is a tall young man, standing at about the same height as his brother, with striking dark eyes and short, spiky hair. His hairstyle features shaved sides shaped like a dragon’s silhouette. He is often observed sporting a wide, toothy grin on his face.
Personality:
Keisuke, like his twin brother, holds a sense of superiority over others and only recognizes their bond. During the First Selection, he is the vocal one, asking his brother questions and following his lead. Together, they are unafraid to resort to underhanded tactics, such as accepting Kuon’s plan, and frequently mock Chigiri both within the Blue Lock Program and on their high school team.

Since Junichi communicates non-verbally, Keisuke understands his intentions solely through their eye contact. However, a significant weakness of this weapon is its dependency on their partnership. When Keisuke is eliminated from the Blue Lock Project, Junichi struggles to keep up with the top players, despite their previous success in scoring the first goal against the formidable Team V and defeating Team X effortlessly.
